Further extending its presence on the North American heavy lift and project cargo markets, Bremen based Combi Lift decided on opening the subsidiary Combi Lift America in the US oil and gas hub Houston. Combi Lift GmbH is a member to the Cargo Equipment Experts CEE network in Germany.
After Combi Lift Asia was founded in 2015, Combi Lift America now marks another strategic focus in the company’s approach to deliver tailor-made solutions and complete services around heavy lift and project cargo transportation and transport engineering. “Having built up long-standing and reliable business relations in this important region over the years, the opening of Combi Lift America is just the logical next step”, concludes Combi Lift’s CEO Heiko Felderhoff. “With Eric Schmid, we were able to convince an experienced industry professional to further develop Combi Lift America as Vice President from our new Houston office.”
Eric Schmid emphasizes the relevance of Houston as regional hotspot not only for the oil and gas sector but consequently also for heavy and oversized cargo logistics: “Since the start of relevant Texan oil production around 1900, Houston has become the Mecca of the oil and gas industry. The recent boom in US oil production even enhanced the significance of the US markets on a worldwide scale. Naturally, this entails a high degree of transportation and transport engineering needs in terms of heavy cargo.”
