Christmas season starts with huge box for BNSF Logistics

BNSF Logistics (BNSFL), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for the USA, handled through their Houston’s GPC office the transport of one Cold Box with 536 metric tons with dimensions of 74 x 7.55 x 5.33 meter. The transport went from Genoa, Italy to Ashtabula, Ohio, USA.

The experts from BNSFL chartered the Ms Palmerton from carriers Combi-Lift for the 21 day voyage to the port at Lake Erie just in time before the closing of the lakes for the winter season. The vessel, equipped with 2 x 450 tons cranes, was ideal to load and discharge the Cold Box at the port of departure and destination.

The Cold Box was directly discharged onto a 4 x 6 axle Goldhofer trailer to be transported 5 km from the port to the jobsite.
