Darka Sudan discharges and delivers 17.5 meter survey boat for the Merowe Dam

Darka for Trading & Services, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium WWPC for Sudan, and their Shipping Agencies and Services branch were appointed as agents for mv ‘Zelada Desgagnes’ by Seven Star Yacht Transport, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, for her port call in Port Sudan for discharging one Survey Boat Length 17.50 Meter Beam 5.18 Meter Weight 34 MT.

Darka successfully handled mv ‘Zelada Desgagnes’ at Port Sudan and the stevedoring of the survey boat Taharga, built in the Hermann Barthel Shipyard in Derben, Germany, for the Consignee, The Ministry of Electricity and Dams, Sudan. It will be used for survey purposes in the Merowe Dam Reservoir. MV ‘Zelada Desgagnes’ berthed at Port Sudan on 01 February 2014 at 10:00 am and because of Darka’s planning and smooth operations the vessel was discharged at 11:50 pm Sudan time.

A spokesperson for Darka’s customer Seven Star Yacht Transport said: ‘It was a great pleasure to work with you Darka Shipping Agencies and Stevedoring and you are a real ambassador for Port Sudan. When reading all the news it is not the first port you think of to go but you really changed my ideas.’
