Steder Group Djibouti completed challenging transformer project

Steder Group Djibouti, member to both Cargo Equipment Experts (CEE) and the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) networks for Djibouti, got awarded the contract to move a total of nine (9) transformers from the Port of Djibouti to a substation connected to the countries GERD project site.

Six transformers of 105 ton single weight and three transformers of 154 ton each had to be moved overland.

The transport had to take place during the rain season which made certain parts of the available roads very complicated to pass.

Especially passing the Nile valley, with a total combination weight of over 230 ton with angles going up and down by 12 %, required absolute qualified skills of the local Steder Group team and their equipment.

Delivering all of these factors through inhouse experts and equipment was the reason why Steder Group got awarded this difficult project.

Their team is qualified to execute this job and other similar tasks properly and safely.
