Heavy crane from Turkey to Down Under by Bati Project

Bati Project & Heavy Lift Logistics Ltd, member to the CEE network in Istanbul/Turkey, successfully loaded a heavy weight Manitowac 16000 Crawler Crane with all its rigging equipment to Brisbane, Australia.

The loading took place at TCDD port Derince – Izmit, Turkey on Monday 10th September 2012. The crawler crane weight was 530mt; however the original 2680cbm crane was packed and combined by Bati team into each other to equal 48 pieces and 1674,73cbm.

The crawler cranes, together with all the rigging equipment were transported from the factory in Gebze to the port on top of 35 standard lowbed traikers. The journey from Gebze to Derince Port, a 45km stretch, took just under 2 days, for the whole 48 pieces of heavy equipment to arrive at port.

The loading operation onboard the chartered ocean vessel was carefully planned and executed by Bati Project. The crane parts were each placed under chartered heavylift vessel crane hook and lifted with great care into the vessels holds.

The Bati Project team stated that although there were various barriers to overcome, the team prevailed by forecasting and deliver ontime this delicate operation.
