Chennai received 49 kilometers of rails

Express Global Logistics (EXG), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India, transported 49,000 meters lenght of rails from Chennai Port, Chennai to Koyambedu Metro Yard, Chennai.

A single lot import of 910 bundles weighing 3000 tons and 49,000 meters in total length was imported at Chennai port. EXG conducted an in-depth inspection at the site before unloading of cargo to identify and rectify any challenges ahead.

EXG especially fabricated the rail clamps and beams to mobilize efficiently and safe handling of Grade Head Hardened (HH) Rails.

The movement was critical because RDSO (Research Designs and Standards Organization, R&D Organization of Indian Railways) were to be implemented during execution and the same was integrated in the operation for conformity of standards.

The mobilization of rails was restricted during the day and hence EXG had to schedule the complete delivery for the following night movements. Operators were working continuously on alternate shifts to complete the lifts for loading and unloading of the shipment using the EXG spreader. Delivery from port was done on extendable long trailers to comply with the client’s norms.

Express Global Logistics completed the project within the stipulated time period without compromising the safety and quality of work.
