Heavy overland in India

Express Global Logistics Private Limited (EXG), member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India, has successfully completed the transportation of a convection module from Por to Gadepan, a total distance of 853 km. The convection module has dimensions of 12.4 x 5.2 x 5.5 m and a weight of 65 tons.

The modul was travelling the route Por – Ahmedabad – Palanpur – Pindwara – Mangalwad – Katoda – Gadepan.

The challenging part of the transportation was the height of the cargo (5.5 meter), stool base of the package coming below the level of the loading bed and severe flooding in Gujarat and Rajasthan. EXG experts negotiated all the hurdles and delivered the package well within time at Gadepan through heavy rains and floods. Many wires had to be negotiated and power shutdown permission had to be obtained from the local authority.

The stool base of the package, which was below the axle bed also had to be taken care of during transportation because of speed breakers and turning of the axles. Due to over-width of the package, it required opening of sensors at three toll plazas with permission from the toll authorities to allow the cargo to move safely.
