Overlong and heavy absorber transport in India

Express Global Logistics (EXG), India, has successfully completed the transportation of an absorber from Panvel to Dahej with dimensions of 39 x 4,3 x 4,3 m and a weight of 81,81 tons.

The transportation of the absorber was a challenging job mainly due to the length of the cargo being 39 meter. During the transportation, the EXG team had to overcome many difficulties such as an overhang of 10 meters, blocking of traffic at various location like Kasara and Nashik, taking the wrong side of the road on Kasara ghat and a single road from Songir to Ankleshwar.

A detailed route survey was carried out before the actual transportation over 660 km to avoid the turning radius issue. The route passed Panvel – Kalamboli – Mumbra – Kasara – Nashik – Shirpur – Shahada – Dediapada – Ankleshwar – Bharauch – Dahej.

The absorber was delivered to site in 10 days time as against the 15 day time period given. EXG considers this as an achievement for the team carrying such a lengthy package.
