Heavy transformer travels from New Orleans to Florida

The BNSF Loistics (BNSFL) Banning, California, Transformer Team successfully managed the transport of one transformer with 440,000 LBS from the Port of New Orleans to the FPL Levee substation in Florida.

The transformer was moved by rail to a rail siding in Miami, offloaded to a Goldhofer platform trailer and transport to the substation where it then was placed on to the final foundation.

BNSFL is the US member for the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC).
