WWPC celebrates the 17th Membership Conference in Cebu

Members of the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) gathered in Cebu, the Philippines during the 8th – 10th of March for their 17th annual membership conference at the Shangri La’s Mactan Resort & Spa.

The attending members, invited sponsors and media representatives enjoyed a well organized event, hosted by the network’s member for the Philippines, Royal Cargo Inc.

Presentations about the country’s infrastructure and project cargo related business by Mr. Michael K. Raeuber and Mr. Elmer Sarmiento of Royal Cargo, along with cultural information about the Philippines and their friendly population, formed part of an impressive welcome ceremony.

During the two days event the conference attendees enjoyed discussions about upcoming global business opportunities in face-to-face meetings and spent common quality time on selected social events.

As was the case in the past WWPC conferences, also this time in Cebu a benefiz auction in support for children in need was conducted, gathering USD 43.500,- from the attendees for the Albert Schweitzer Familienwerk Foundation Philippines, Inc. which operates a shelter in Cebu.

The conference was supported by first class sponsors Combi Lift GmbH, Rickmers-Linie, Volga-Dnepr Group, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics and Royal Cargo Inc. who gave presentations and updates on their respective services.

In a closed session the members voted for Amsterdam in the Netherlands to be the location for the May 2018 membership conference and nominated the member for that country, Steder Group b.v. as the official host.

As a new member to the network’s Board of Advisors (BoA) the members voted for Mr. Gerald Hess, Managing Director of BNSF Logistics Canada, Inc.
